Stephen Susco to Pen 'Hack/Slash' Adaptation

We're a little closer to seeing Cassie Hack of the Hack/Slash comic slice and dice her way across the big screen. It was previously announced that Fredrik Bond will direct and Bloody-Disgusting reported today that Stephen Susco (Grudge, Grudge 2) is on board as writer. Susco has a few interesting projects in the works. He's currently writing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D for Twisted Pictures and The Butcherhouse Chronicles for Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes, which I wrote about here. Fredrik Bond is a Swedish commercial director who is attached to the American remake of Joon-ho Bong's The Host. He was ranked as one of the "World's Hottest New Directors" and has won several awards for his work. This sounds like a good team for Rogue Pictures' live-action adaptation that is reported to start filming this winter.
If you haven't read Tim Seeley's comic book from Devil's Due Publishing, you're missing out. The story revolves around Cassie Hack, the ultimate Final Girl, who has transformed from victim to killer and travels small towns across the country seeking slashers to slay. By her side is her partner Vlad, a gas mask wearing giant, who is her protector. P.S. Anything in a gas mask is awesome. I'm hoping this will become the next franchise in girl butt-kicking action à la Buffy or Alice, but Cassie is way hotter. She even has a Suicide Girls page and you can friend her on MySpace.
