I can't really think of an occasion where it isn't appropriate to play Goblin and I finally found someone who agrees with me.

Check out one person's video project after the jump, which is titled 'Take a Bath...Giallo Style.' The video features the music from Dario Argento's Tenebre, which was composed by Goblin. The Italian prog rock band has contributed to some of the finest soundtracks in Italian horror and well . . .horror, period. Though the video description claims it's unfinished, it's still cleverly done and gialloriffic with all the appropriate elements. I know exactly what music I'll be playing when I get sudsy later on tonight. Also of note is another video from the same person that is a party, shot giallo style, featuring the awesome, non-giallo sounds of The Magnetic Fields.

Now, where's my Ennio Morricone, spaghetti dinner video?

It's not often that two of my favorite things come together, but Tom Cruise impersonator extraordinaire/film actor Miles Fisher has managed to do just that by combining the Talking Heads and American Psycho. Over at his personal website he's launched a musical tribute to Psycho in a video for This Must Be the Place (possibly one of the best Talking Heads songs ever written, but I digress) -- and what do you know -- I don't hate it. The song is the first release off his self-titled EP, which you can download for free if you're into that kind of thing.

All your favorite moments from Psycho get a nod, including Bateman's infamous Huey Lewis and The News speech, the business cards and facials, and we even get the creepiest three-ways ever to go on film. The video stars Fisher doing a pretty decent Bale/Bateman alongside Lydia Hearst (a model/socialite who is also heir to William Randolph Hearst) filling in as the 'hooker' in the story (I'm sure Great Grandpa would be thrilled).

Love Michael Jackson or hate him, there's little denying that the Thriller video he made with director John Landis was a pretty big deal back in the day. Music videos were still in their infancy, and to see one that aimed for a truly "cinematical" approach was pretty damn novel. So I thought it would be cool to ask our staff for some memories of this powerfully poopular music video...

I must have watched "Thriller" 100 times when it was new. I couldn't get enough of it. I think I was initially impressed by the long-form, big-budget music video that was more of an event than a regular occurrence. But it actually holds up well, thanks to the purposely cheesy, winking direction by John Landis. It's hard not to watch without a grin on your face. I can't even remember the first time I saw "Thriller" because it's such a pervasive part of my childhood and my Halloweens. My family was dead broke and we only had basic television, so I know it was years after everyone else had seen it. I listened to the song so often (Vincent Price's voice getting me every single time) that the "story" told in it had built up one heck of a movie in my mind ... and that movie still wasn't as cool as the actual "Thriller" video. - Elisabeth Rappe
